Sunday Reflection – Just smile

For many years, each morning at six o’clock, a nasty sound told me to get up and get ready for work.
I head out to the bus stop to get to my work.
It’s a 30 minute drive, time I spend reading a book.
A daily routine I had for many years…
On a Thursday something happened on the bus…
Halfway through the trip, the bus had another stop and picked up a mother with two young children, one on her right hand and the other in the stroller she was trying to push on the bus.
An unsuccessful action, I might add, which made me look up from my book.
The daughter that was first on the hand (who I assume was maybe 6 or 7 years old) came to the rescue, helping her mother get the stroller on the bus.
She saw me watching and gave me a smile.
I could not return the smile because I had to wear a face mask because of the pandemic we all were living in, so gave her a thumbs up, which in return gave me a bonus smile from the little girl.
I can tell you, that moment and the rest of the day gave me a feeling as if the world was a little better.
Tom Wilson was right when he said, “A smile is happiness you’ll find right under your nose.”
You look so much better when you smile, so smile.
If we would smile more often at one another, it would make the world a better place.
Before you leave, slap a nice, genuine smile on that face of yours.
Not a “LOL” or smiley from your cellphone.
You’ll thank me later.
Last but not least, stay yourself.

Have a wonderful week,
